A woman in Kariobangi estate in Nairobi, narrated how her husband was killed in cold blood for shielding the family from gunmen.
Alice Wanja, whose husband was killed on Tuesday night, said she heard some confrontation outside her house on the fateful night. On peeping, she saw two armed men pushing her husband, Dan Odhiambo, towards their home threatening to shoot their whole family.
Ms Wanja added that she immediately reacted by locking the door denying entry to the three. The husband did not beg her to open but rather, the gang retrieved and dragged him away from the house.
Minutes later, Wanja said that they heard gunshots and rushed to check what had happened. They were shocked to find Mr Odhiambo lying in a pool of blood with bullet wounds in his chest.
The businessman at Gikomba market passed on while being rushed to a Buruburu hospital.
Buruburu OCPD Richard Kerich confirmed the incident as reported by Nairobi News.
The past two weeks has seen a rise in fatal shootings including an incident in which an MP's bodyguard shot dead three gunmen who attempted to rob him in Umoja estate.

Weeks ago, a former Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officer was also gunned down in broad daylight after trying to fight off armed robbers in Lang'ata area.
