How 'Snakes' Forced Woman to Kill Mother-in-Law

A woman in Ndeiya, Kiambu County revealed that Satan compelled her to kill her mother-in-law in cold blood, and sent her to also kill her mother and sister.

Caroline Wanjiku, 29, confessed to her father that she had been getting visions of snakes coiling around her waist while she was asleep.

“They asked me to kill three of my relatives but I prayed and they left, only to attack me that Sunday morning,” she narrated.

Ms Wanjiku explained how she inadvertently walked to the kitchen where her mother-in-law, Ann Nymbura, was cooking and hit her head severally with an axe.

She later called a boda-boda operator to take her to her maternal home so she could kill her mother and sister only to find her father.

Wanjiku confessed her crime to the father before proceeding to the village Police Post where she turned herself in.

“She is known to be taking tablets to control her mental problem but no one knows what happened,” said area Assistant Chief James Mwaura.

Wanjiku was taken to Tigoni Police Station and would later go through a mental check up at Mathari Hospital, Nairobi.

Police launched investigations into the matter after collecting statements from relatives and blood samples from the scene.
