Hundreds Left Homeless After Inter Clan Fighting In Pokot

Hundreds of families spent the night in the cold after their houses were torched by bandits following inter clan fighting in Kapsait village, Pokot south sub county.

Witnesses say they were attacked in the dead of night while they slept.

Most residents could not salvage anything from their houses and are now counting thousands worth of losses.

Residents say the inter clan wrangles dates back 20 years and  is over  a piece of land estimated at 20 acres, Citizen Tv reports.

The affected families are now camping in churches in Murkogoi area where well wishers and other locals are providing them with basic amenities.

They are calling on the county government to help them rebuild their homes.

They also want the government to intervene and find a solution to the conflict whilst providing them with enough security.
