Husband Explains How Ms Ibrahim Got Stabbed on Cheek

The man accused of lodging a knife in his wife's cheek was on Friday arraigned in a Wajir Court.

Mohamed Deeq denied stabbing Fatuma Ibrahim and instead claimed that he was trying to save his wife from committing suicide.

In its submission, the Prosecution asked for more time awaiting Ms Ibrahim's medical report to be released.

Resident Magistrate Bildad Rongocho ordered Mr Deeq be remanded until January 13, when the case will be mentioned.

Meanwhile, a team of surgeons at the Kenyatta National Hospital successfully managed to remove the knife.

The team conducted a one hour operation on Thursday night to remove the knife which had stayed in the woman's body close to a day.
