I am Ready For Talks With Jubilee Rivals - Peter Kenneth Says

Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth has announced that he is ready to dialogue with his rivals, led by Senator Mike Sonko, who have opposed his candidature.

Speaking in Westlands on Monday, the former Gatanga MP said that for the talks to happen, his rivals in Jubilee must see the need for “dialogue and consensus” or he would be left with no option but to face them during party primaries.

Kenneth stated that the only way Jubilee would defeat incumbent Evans Kidero was if they united and worked as a team.

"Insults and threats will not move me because I have thick skin but we need to work together to send Kidero home," the 2013 presidential candidate stated.

He said that his main focus was beating Kidero whom he accused of failing the capital during his 5-year tenure at City hall.

Kenneth has been facing stiff opposition from a section of Jubilee leaders after he declared that he would vie for the Nairobi Governor's seat under President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party

The anti-Kenneth group, which consists of Senator Sonko, Dagoreti Member of Parliament (MP) Dennis Waweru, Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, has termed the former presidential contender an outsider in the City politics.

The infighting between the leaders recently compelled Kenyatta to plead with all Jubilee aspirants eyeing the top seat to work together if they wanted to defeat Kidero.
