Joy Doreen Biira's Mercedes Benz Recovered

A Standard Group (SG) journalist has been arrested with a Mercedes Benz belonging to KTN news anchor Joy Doreen Biira.

The reporter identified as Aron Ochieng was nabbed following investigations which unearthed that he had driven the vehicle from SG's parking yard on Mombasa road a week ago.

The Sh2.8 Million Benz which was previously bearing registration number KBY 831K was found at a car wash in Kisumu with the number changed to KCH 117L.

According to a police report, the journalist had parked the vehicle at the Standard headquarters on the morning of December 23.

At around a few minutes to 9pm, she realised that her car keys were missing from her desk and decided to check the vehicle at the parking yard only to find it missing.

She reported the matter to the company's security department and initial investigations revealed that the luxurious vehicle had been driven out of the premises at around 7.39pm.

The news anchor then proceeded to file a report at the Industrial Area police station where a probe into the matter led to the recovery.

Also apprehended were two guards who were manning the SG premises at the time of the theft.

The incident happened just a few weeks after the Biira was arrested in Uganda and charged with abetting terrorism having travelled to the country to attend her traditional wedding.

The business anchor was accused of posting photos and videos of a military fight that broke out in Kasese town.
