The Jubilee Party has abandoned an earlier plan to use Smart Cards in its nominations set for April 21.
The party on Friday announced that it made the changes after it was discovered that some aspirants had bought off all the cards in some regions.
Use of the cards had highly been discouraged by a section of the aspirants who feared that some of their counterparts would use them to their advantage in the upcoming polls.
The smart membership cards, which cost Sh20, were launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta in January with an aim of increasing the party support in different regions around the country.
Some aspirants were, however, accused of purchasing the cards on behalf of their supporters with an intention of using them during the primaries while others reportedly printed fake cards.
Last week, seven Jubilee officials were fired for allegedly being involved in malpractices including attempting to print and sell fake certificates and cards.
Sources claimed the officials had received millions of money from aspirants who they had promised to help in the primaries.
The party is set to hold the nominations in a single day and will be keen to avoid mistakes witnessed in other processes such as lack of enough voting material and faulty registers.
