Jubilee Aspirant Suleiman Shahbal Reveals He Made a Sh1 Million Bet Against Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka Being Flag-bearer

Jubilee gubernatorial aspirant in Mombasa, Suleiman Shahbal, has revealed that he made a Sh1 Million bet against Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka being the National Super Alliance (NASA) flag-bearer, and won.

Suleiman Shahbal disclosed that he had made the Sh1 million bet with Musyoka in 2013 when he was still in Wiper that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga would not surrender the top seat to him.

Shahbal divulged that the Wiper leader, however, dismissed his assumption insisting that he had a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ODM party leader.

He pointed out that the Musyoka was optimistic Odinga would honour his part of the deal and made the bet with him that he would be the presidential flag-bearer in 2017.

The aspirant added that as he had predicted, the ODM leader was picked to fly NASA's ticket with Musyoka as his running mate

“I’m calling him to collect my money. I told him there is no way that Raila would give him the certificate,” said Shahbal to the Star.

Shahbal stated that he would contact the former Vice President to demand his six figure bet.

In a new twist, however, National Assembly Minority Leader Francis Nyenze, who was also a member of the National Coordinating Committee charged with identifying NASA’s flag-bearer, stated that the ‘Kamba Nation’ got a raw deal.

Nyenze revealed that NASA’s selection of Odinga as its candidate came as a shocker both to the party and their supporters who were expecting Musyoka to ascend to the top seat.

He lamented that it would be difficult to convince the Kamba community to play second fiddle and tow the line after they were short-changed yet again in the infamous 2013 MoU.
