Jubilee Party Hires More Staff and Experts in New Election Plan

Jubilee Party Secretary-General and Head of Secretariat Raphael Tuju over the weekend revealed that the party has put in place new plans that will ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta is re-elected in the upcoming General Election.

Speaking at the party’s offices in Pangani, Tuju disclosed that the party had hired over 300 secretariat staff that will be hosted in the party’s headquarters.

The secretariat staff will compose of data experts, communication experts and statistical analysts that will brief the secretariat on a day to day basis.

Tuju also disclosed that the party will hire over 200,000 volunteers across all the 47 counties to run grass root campaigns for the president and his deputy.

Mr Tuju further indicated that the opposition had tainted Jubilee’s image and a good communication strategy and branding was required. He mentioned that the party had hired veteran journalist Alex Chamwada to lay out complex media and communication strategies and package Uhuru for a second term.

“The mandate of the media department will be to work and ensure that the supporters of Jubilee and Kenyans, in general, know what is happening in their party and they also are the people who will be linking the party to the media and press,” Tuju highlighted.

The Secretary-General also mentioned that all aspirants who will have clinched the party ticket to vie for various elective posts will also be required to campaign for the President in order to cover more ground.

The party will also benefit from the help of former senior civil servants and influential persons like former State House political adviser Nancy Gitau who will be charged with the duty of formulating the party’s campaign strategy.

Tuju expressed confidence that his party will beat NASA in the August polls and maintain a majority in both Houses since the party had prepared well for the August polls.

“I bet that there is no other party with the same level of thoroughness and preparedness as Jubilee Party,” Tuju mentioned.

Tuju's statement is, however, debatable as the party has faced a series of chaotic incidents in the past week during exercises to elect County election board members.

Violent altercations were witnessed in Nairobi on Thursday and on Friday in Kirinyaga and Murang'a Counties.
