Jubilee Senator Martha Wangari Admits Jubilee is Worried About Raila Joining NASA

A Jubilee nominated senator who is a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta has publicly admitted that the ruling coalition has been having sleepless nights over the opposition’s plan to form the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Martha Wangari made the revelations during a morning show interview with Citizen TV, adding that Jubilee was alive to the magnitude of the political force that would result from a united NASA.

“Guys are not sleeping in Jubilee. We anticipate that the super alliance is going to be a storm that we will have to deal with, but ultimately, it will be left to the people to decide,” Wangari stated.

Wangari had been joined by Kitutu Chache MP Richard Onyonka who went back to his ODM party after a short flirtation with the Jubilee team.

Onyonka warned the Jubilee leaders not to assume that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga would not be unable to bring together the Opposition politicians into one team under NASA.

“The truth is if this NASA thing comes to materialise. If all these leaders decide to stick together as it was during the NARC coalition, they are going to be a force to deal with regardless of who will be their presidential candidate,” Onyonka warned.

He added: “In 2013, we as CORD wrongly assumed that Uhuru and Ruto would not achieve unity. But look at what they did to us. I would advise Jubilee to be proactive and not sit pretty waiting for NASA to fall out.”

The idea of NASA was initially associated with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi but has recently gained traction after Odinga showed support for it.
