Jubilee to Unveil Teams to Ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta's Re-election in August 8 Elections

President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to roll out a campaign team backed by resources and personnel to ensure his re-election in the August 8 General Election.

Sources privy to the plan revealed that the strategic team will be divided into six units tasked with popularising the President across the nation and securing his victory in the upcoming elections.

The first team is the Technical/Resources unit comprising of individuals from the President and Deputy President (DP) William Ruto's family.

According to the plan, members of the unit include National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, his Senate counterpart Ekwe Ethuro and Njee Muturi will be supervised by Uhuru's brother Muhoho Kenyatta.

Other members are Charles Keter (Energy CS) and David Maiyo (DP's private secretary) and Principal Secretary Davis Chirchir.

Next is the Messaging and Communications unit which, in conjunction with British PR firm BTP Advisers, will provide relevant content online to attract and retain votes for the president.

The plan also includes a political unit made of seasoned politicians and influential personilities. This will be led by the Head of State aided by Ruto.

The team will traverse the country to market the UhuRuto ticket with each region having a team to spearhead the vote hunt.

Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale, Senators Kiraitu Murungi and Mike Sonko, Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro, Charles Nyachae and Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, who will be members of this group, will spearhead the hunt for votes in their respective regions.

Another unit is the Strategy and Theme team made up of lecturers and businesspeople from across the country. The members will not only raise funds but also align Jubilee's manifesto to address the needs of Kenyans as a way of attracting votes.

Uhuru's campaign will also be boosted by a Professionals unit which will be tasked with explaining Jubilee's agenda to their local communities at the county level and will be led by Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries.

Women and Youth caucases will also be formed at the county and subcounty levels to run the "Uhuru Tena" campaigns.

Contacted by Kenyans.co.ke, Jubilee Communications team did not comment on the validity of the strategy.
