Kalonzo is in NASA to Stay - Raila Says

Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has assured National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters that the coalition will remain intact and that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is not leaving the alliance ahead of the August 8 elections.

Speaking at the Kisii Sports club during a meeting with Gusii leaders, the former Prime Minister banished fears that NASA would fall apart and assured supporters that Kalonzo was in the alliance to stay.

“Ignore rumours that Kalonzo has quit NASA. I have spoken to him and he has assured me that he is in NASA to stay. NASA is intact and that is a guarantee. We shall only field one candidate for August.

“Jubilee administration is scared of this movement and they are using all means to wreck us. Kindly relax and watch the space,” he stated

Raila's remarks come just a day after National Minority Leader and a close ally of Kalonzo, Mr Francis Nyenze, on Wednesday, threatened that Wiper could quit the coalition should the former Vice President fail to be picked as flag bearer.

The ODM leader further emphasised that whoever would be chosen the NASA presidential candidate would beat President Kenyatta with more than two million votes, if the election would be free, fair and credible.

He also indicated that his team would deploy more than 450,000 agents across the country - which translates to at least 10 agents in every polling station to curb rigging.

The NASA co-principal also reiterated that the Opposition would have their own tallying centre and that all agents would be required to immediately send results from their respective polling stations to the Opposition's presidential tallying centre.
