KANU Officially Announces Support for Uhuru in August Election

KANU has officially announced its support for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 General Election.

The party's Secretary General Nick Salat made the announcement after a Thursday meeting with KANU's National Executive Council in Nakuru County.

"It has been agreed that Kanu will support Uhuru in the poll, This was after wide consultation," Salat said after the meeting led by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

Mr Moi noted that the party will field candidates in all the other positions.

This comes at a time when the cockerel party has been deliberating on which vehicle between, Jubilee and NASA, it would be supporting in the polls.

Last week, speculations were rife that KANU would be supporting Mr Kenyatta following his visit to retired President Daniel Moi's home.
