KDF Shares Photo of Recruits Training

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) which has traditionally been an entity enshrouded in mystery and secrecy, on Thursday shared rare images of recruits at camp.

In the two images posted on their Twitter account, KDF shows one of the recruits with a rifle aiming at a target, while the other shows a group of recruits crawling on the ground during a gruelling military exercise.

The military world over, conduct training in a clandestine manner usually in the interest of keeping tactics and weapons secret.

However, in certain situations they have been forced to purposely divulge some information to the public, to boost their morale and to fight propaganda spread by enemies. Powerful forces like the US military, British and the French have documentaries produced capturing some of their remarkable missions besides recruitment processes and drills.

In Africa, however, the militaries uphold secrecy hence seldom release photos or videos of their troops in action. Prior to the Uganda elections, the government released a video of its troops in action including Uganda special forces, causing anxiety among citizens who questioned the move at the peak of campaigns.

Here are the photos:
