KDF Thwarts 3 Attacks Kills Al Shabaab Militants

The Kenya Defense Forces in Somalia on Saturday morning engaged a group of Al Shabaab militants in a fierce exchange of fire killing three terrorists.

It is reported that the Kenyan soldiers operating under AMISON came across an improvised explosive device (IED) which went off at a place known as Damasa after which the militia started firing at them.

The troops reportedly pursued the militants at a different location neutralising two others as one of the militants died after an IED exploded prematurely.

Reports also indicate that on Thursday the Forces at the Boni Forest thwarted another attack on their operating base killing three more suspected militiamen.

In the Lamu millitary offensive dubbed Operation Linda Boni the KDF troops destroyed camps set up by Al Shabaab operatives in the forest recovering a collection of weapons and communication devices.

The total number of militia men neutralised by KDF in the last two days comes to eight.

Operation Linda Boni was launched a week ago after intelligence revealed that the Somalia-based terror group Al Shabaab had set up makeshift camps in the vast forest where they planned attacks on different parts in the country.
