News of the arrest of blogger Xtian Dela triggered this hashtag with bloggers and social media influencers lobbying for the release of their colleague.

The circumstances sorrounging Dela's arrest  on Thursday afternoon remain unclear.

#DaktariRudiKazi

Aother hashtag related to the ongoning doctors' strike.

It has been propelled by those who are calling for the speedy resolution of the standoff between the doctors and the government.

#KMPDUinCourt

This hashtag was propagated by medical doctors and their sympathisers as the Kenya Medical and Dentists Union (KMPDU) union officials appeared before Justice Hellen Wasilwa for sentencing after they were found to have acted in contempt of court by refusing to call off the medical workers' strike that is now in its 39th day.

Justice Wasilwa sentenced the union officials to one month in jail.

The sentence will, however, remain suspended for two weeks pending completion of negotiations.

This trend started on Thursday, a day after Opposition parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as they seek to defeat Jubilee in the August General Election.

The trend was supported by social media users who are skeptical of the unity calls by Opposition politicians in the proposed National Super Alliance (NASA).

The trend was largely fuelled by sensational attacks directed at Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, coming from Ford Kenya Deputy leader Bonny Khalwale.

This trend appeared on early Thursday morning as a section of social media users discussed a new directive issued by Ezekiel Mutua of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB).

This trend was prompted by the proceedings that had been ongoing at the Labour courts.
