Man Threatens to Kill KTN News Anchor Joy Doreen

A man was on Friday arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts for allegedly threatening to kill KTN news anchor Joy Doreen Biira.

Lawrence Nyamao issued the threat through a message on January 15 while at an undisclosed location in Nairobi.

"Huna bahati hapa kazini... Wewe ukufe ama Aroni atoke ndani," one of the messages that were presented in court read.

Loosely translated to: "You are not lucky at work. The options are for you to die or for Aaron to get out of jail."

Appearing before Chief Resident Magistrate Francis Andayi, Mr Nyamao denied the charges and was freed on a Sh500,000 bond or Sh300,000 cash bail.

On 30th December, KTN's news editor Aaron Obudho was arrested with Biira's Mercedes-Benz, worth Sh2.8 Million in Kisumu after she had reported that it had been stolen at Standard Media group headquarters along Mombasa road.

On January 3, he was charged in court with stealing Biira’s Benz but he later alleged that they had planned the theft of the Sh2.8 Million vehicle with the news anchor for personal benefits.

Mr Obudho denied the allegations and was freed on a Sh1 million bond or Sh300,000 cash bail.
