The body of a 20 year old man who had been reported missing has been found in Nairobi City Mortuary
Eddy Mwangi, a student at Thika Institute of Business Studies had been reported missing by his family two weeks ago after he recorded a statement at Juja police station in Thika claiming to have been threatened by members of an unknown gang.
The deceased mother Jane Wamari claims that the police did not take seriously her son's fears and now wants investigations done into her son's death. She is asking the Inspector General of police Joseph Boinett to intervene.
The area OCS Luke Oduor confirmed that the deceased recorded a statement with them but that investigations indicate that he died in a hit and run.
Oduor said it took a long time for the family to be notified of his death because traffic police had not been informed that the deceased had been reported missing.
