Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar Wants Governor Hassan Joho on the Ballot

Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has called for Governor Hassan Joho to be included on the ballot so that he can beat him.

The Wiper Party Secretary General stated that he was ready to go head to head with Joho for the Mombasa Governorship in the forthcoming elections and warned other politicians against meddling in the politics at the coast.

“Anyone who is not from Mombasa, be it the President or any other, keep off the politics of Mombasa so that the people of Mombasa can determine who they want to lead them. We want that man with D- on the ballot. That tactic to bar him from the ballot is not viable. The guy is beatable.

"He has done nothing for the people of Mombasa. Leave that man(Joho) alone. We can deal with him,” said Omar.

He was speaking during the launch of aspirant Daniel Muange’s bid for the Changamwe MP seat at the Akamba Handicraft where he also revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s spat with ‘Sultan’ is only serving to make the Mombasa Governor more popular.

Joho has been on the receiving end of various allegations levelled against him and was recently questioned for alleged forgery of academic papers.

His rivalry with Omar is set to intensify, considering they are both part of the National Super Alliance (NASA).
