Moses Kuria Reveals How He Fixed DP Ruto at ICC Alongside Martha Karua

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has set the stage for a contentious debate, after he revealed that he was involved in procuring witnesses in the ICC case against Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking on Sunday during prayers for the Deputy President in Mt Elgon, Moses Kuria claimed that he sought for witnesses alongside NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua, adding that he was willing to testify at the Intenational Criminal Court (ICC).

“It was all about political competition and I am ready to testify in The Hague,” Kuria said.

The controversial legislator also implicated CORD leader Raila Odinga and Kisumu Senator Anyang Nyong'o of having been involved in the fixing of Ruto at the Hague-based court.

“I am ready to be the first one to go to The Hague, and Martha Karua, Anyang’ Nyong’o and Raila should follow to clear the air because we all know Ruto and Sang’ are innocent,” Capital FM quoted Kuria.

Ms Karua through her lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, however, refuted the claims terming them as "baseless and malicious allegations". Imanyara further announced that her client would take legal action against the Gatundu South MP.

Hon Karua will sue Moses Kuria both in Kenya and at the ICC over this crude attempt to drag her in DP William Ruto's woes at The Hague.

The remarks by Mr kuria come at a time when DP Ruto's ICC case has fallen back into the limelight, most notably after political tensions emerged following claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta had left Ruto to fight the ICC case by himself.

Various advancements have also taken place in regards to the case. The ICC allowed the prosecution to use previously recanted statements as evidence in implicating Ruto.

Most recently, Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda closed her case against William Ruto and Radio Journalist Joshua Arap Sang, four years after charges were confirmed.
