Moses Kuria, Waititu Arrested

Three Jubilee Members of Parliament (MPs) have reportedly been arrested after being summoned to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters.

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Kabete's Ferdinand Waititu and Kimani Ngunjiri of Bahati were detained at the DCI offices with their fate remaining unknown.

The legislators were asked to appear before the detectives following a public uproar after they were caught on camera uttering statements that were deemed inciteful and propagating hate.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet also directed CORD's Junet Muhamed, Aisha Jumwa, Timothy Bosire and Senator Johnson Muthama to present themselves at the DCI offices for making statements said to be laced with ethnic hatred.

On Saturday, Ngunjiri allegedly led a group of youths in pelting stones at a hotel where CORD leader Raila Odinga was being accommodated in Nakuru County and afterwards said that members of a particular community vacate the County.
