Moses Kuria's Two Million Shillings Bail in Hate Speech Case Stands

A court in Nairobi has ruled that a Ksh 2 million cash bail set for Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria in a case where he is accused of hate speech shall remain.

The prosecution had applied for the court to throw out Kuria's bail on accusations that Moses Kuria continued to post inciting statements on his social media accounts.

Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko had earlier this month accused Kuria of failing to uphold the terms of the bail by continuously posting inciting comments and thus wanted the bail revoked.

The judge however ruled that since Kuria had not failed to appear before court, he had every right to apply for bail.

The case will be heard on 9th and 10th of September this year.
