NARC Kenya's Martha Karua Selects Joseph Gitari as Her Running Mate in Kirinyaga Gubernatorial Race

The Kirinyaga gubernatorial race has taken a new twist after National Rainbow Coalition of Kenya (NARC Kenya) leader Martha Karua unveiled a surprise candidate to be her running mate in the contest.

Kirinyaga Central Member of Parliament (MP) Gachoki Gitari confirmed that he would team up with Karua in order to beat Jubilee's Anne Waiguru.

This came after a series of meetings in which the two leaders sealed the deal to work together for the betterment of the county.

Gitari contested in the hotly Jubilee nominations but came second to Waiguru who clinched the ticket in a close race whose results were challenged.

With the new alliance, the stage is set for an epic battle with Waiguru having an uphill task to beat the seasoned former Gichugu MP.

The lawmaker affirmed that Karua is an honest leader who has never been implicated in any scandal and who could bring development to the region.

Karua has been traversing the county drumming up support for her candidature while Gitari has been consolidating his support after losing to Waiguru.

Following Waiguru's landslide win, Karua cautioned her not to celebrate yet hinting that she would still pull some surprise stunts.

"It is too early for Ms Waiguru to start celebrating." she said.
