Now Ruto Allies Join CORD On Waiguru's Resignation

Two United Republican Party legislators have joined the Opposition's demand for the suspension of Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru over graft at the National Youth Service.

Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter said he would be presenting an impeachment motion against Anne Waiguru next week in Parliament. Keter stated it would be of good interest if Waiguru stepped aside as investigations into the Sh800 Million graft continued.

The MP faulted President Uhuru Kenyatta saying he appeared to have double standards in the fight against corruption.

“It’s unfair for the President to claim he is upholding the spirit of the constitution and fighting graft yet he favours some who have been implicated in corruption,” said Keter.

Speaking in separate occasions on Friday Bomet Central MP Ronald Tonui accused Waiguru of embarrassing the Jubilee Government, since she refused to step aside to allow investigations into the Sh800 Million Scandal under her docket.

“The shady deals that have come to the fore have nothing to do with the whole of the Jubilee government. Waiguri should step aside and allow for thorough investigations to be conducted by an independent entity," said Tonui.

Tonui who is also from the Deputy President's Party, further alleged that CS Waiguru was micromanaging the NYS project, adding that she ought to have been suspended like her colleagues who were linked to graft, Standard reports.

Last week CORD Leader Raila Odinga also strongly faulted the Devolution CS claiming that her name was ejected from the first list of shame presented in Parliament by the President in which other cabinet members were mentioned and subsequently suspended.

Waiguru through her lawyer accused Mr Odinga of defaming her by calling her a thief. She demanded an apology from the former Prime Minister who dared her to sue him if what he said was not true.
