Old Mutual Manager Moses Baraka Dies After Night of Drinking at Nairobi's B Club

A 30-year old manager at a local insurance company on Saturday died in a freak accident at the popular B Club.

Moses Baraka, who is an executive at Old Mutual Insurance company, was leaving the club at around 5 am where he insisted on using the stairs while his colleagues took the lift.

The guards at the facility said that the much inebriated Baraka started climbing the rail of the stairs and tried to slide down.

Unfortunately, he lost his balance and fell head down to the ground floor.

The man was then rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police have confirmed that they are investigating the matter while the family has promised to issue a statement after the postmortem is conducted.

“We understand he sustained fatal head injuries from the fall. A team is on the ground investigating the tragedy,” Nairobi Police boss Japheth Koome stated.

The popular joint has in the last year become the subject of controversy.

Apart from the attention received from hosting VIPs, the Kilimani-based club has also had incidents of patrons being assaulted in the facility.
