Siaya Senator James Orengo will be defending 10 bloggers summoned to appear before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Wednesday.
The bloggers are under investigation for allegedly misusing a licensed telecommunication gadget to post on their Facebook and Twitter accounts, information that authorities described as provocative and criminal.
The bloggers include: Robert Alai, Cyprian Nyakundi, Patrick Msafari, Seth Odongo, Charles Dienya, Anthony Mburu, Eddy Illah, Phelix G-Cord, George Nyongesa and Yassin Juma.
Orengo will be leading a team of lawyers to fight for the bloggers.
Alai, a controversial blogger, indicated that they have been easy targets in the recent past and the trend had been steadily growing.
“We agreed to reappear on Wednesday for further grilling and Orengo will lead other lawyers in representing us. We feel we are being harassed for no reason,” Alai was quoted by the Standard.
Yassin Juma, who was arrested after posting the happenings of the El Adde attack on KDF soldiers was released on Monday, following faulty charge sheets after spending the whole weekend behind bars.

Last week, Eddy Reuben Illah was apprehended and arraigned in court after he posted photos of Kenyan soldiers who were killed in the same attack on a WhatsApp group.
The court released Illah on a Sh100,000 bond or a cash bail of Sh50,000 after his lawyer failed to convince the court that the offence was minor.
