PHOTOS: CORD Unleashes Uniform for Protests

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) has unveiled a new attire that its members will wear when staging demonstrations against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

A section of the Coalition leaders on Wednesday showcased caps with 'Firimbi Movement' emblem embedded on them as they affirmed their decision to continue with protests against the electoral body.

While addressing a press conference, the leaders urged Kenyans to join them on Monday next week at the IEBC headquarters in Nairobi and in all counties as they continue with the 'occupy IEBC' push.

Led by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairman John Mbadi, the lawmakers insisted and pleaded with the government not to lob teargas at them.

A week ago, CORD staged similar demonstrations in the City accompanied by their supporters despite being warned by the police.

However, the situation turned chaotic when officers guarding the area lobbed teargas as the leaders attempted to forcefully gain entry into the electoral body's offices.

The same demonstrations were carried out in Kisumu and Siaya counties led by area Governors but attempts to storm regional IEBC offices were thwarted by officers who declared that they wouldn't allow protestors to forcefully intimidate IEBC officials.
