The President of the United States, Barack Obama, surprised a couple on Sunday when he 'disrupted' the planned wedding procession to putt a golf ball near their altar.
Obama was finishing up a round of golf at Torrey Pines La Jolla golf course in San Diego, when Brian and Stephanie Tobe took advantage of the once in a lifetime opportunity to shake hands with the leader of the free world.
The couple who had arrived on time for their big day, was told to wait for POTUS to finish his game before commencing.
In normal circumstances, this would have been a setback to the wedding plans, but the couple was more than happy to have the Head of State as their wedding crasher.
The couple watched as he played from inside the golf house but realised that they had an opporunity to meet the most powerful man in the world, hence they quickly ran to take photos with him after being allowed by the secret service.
The ceremony was delayed but Obama apologised and gave them good advice, having had his 23rd wedding anniversary recently.
“His presence had no negative impact. In fact, the mood became so fun, laid back, and celebratory, that it was one of the most joyful weddings we’ve ever been at, ever. We easily made up the timeline with the cocktail hour, we were able to get better sunset photos, and in the end, things didn’t run late at all.” said the wedding photographer.
Bystanders were surprised by his charisma and kindness when he shook the hands of all 60 guests present and made it a "wonderful" short experience for all.
