President Uhuru Kenyatta united with CORD leader Raila Odinga to visit and comfort the Kenya Defence Forces soldiers who were injured during the deadly Al Shabaab attack in El Adde, Somalia.
In a rare occurrence, Raila led other CORD principals including Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula in joining the President as they visited the soldiers recuperating at Armed Forces Memorial Hospital in Nairobi.
The leaders were also accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.
The Head of State shared light moments with the army men and even went ahead to check some of their injuries while commending them for their bravery.
The soldiers, who have been regarded as heroes for standing their ground and defending the country from the Somalia-based militia group, were flown into the country on Sunday and were received by Defence Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo.
