Police Officer Based at State House Caught Extorting Money from Eastleigh Residents

A police officer assigned to work at State House was on Thursday arrested in an embarrassing incident after he was found extorting money from residents in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

The officer from State House was accompanied by his colleague from the General Service Unit Training School.

The two are reported to have arrested five residents for allegedly not having identification documents.

However, the local police were informed that suspicious people had arrested residents and locked them at the back of a police car.

The officers responded and found the two suspects holding five people at the back of a civilian saloon car.

The incident is the latest in a spate of complaints from residents in Eastleigh, who have accused rogue police officers of harassing them with the aim of extorting money.
