Police Officers Communicated on WhatsApp Before Killing Wanted Thug Clare Mwaniki aka Clea Adi Vybz

Undercover police officers in Kayole used popular messaging platform WhatsApp to communicate before they gunned down wanted female gangster Clare Mwaniki aka Clea Adi Vybz.

Clare, who was believed to be the wife of a notorious robber known as Mwanii, was shot dead in Lower Chokaa area, along Kangundo Road.

The police officers got a tip off from one of their colleagues through their WhatsApp group and mobilised themselves to nab the young woman, who was in the company of four men.

Since some of the officers did not see the message, they were called one by one then they asked for reinforcement from their colleagues who were on patrol.

The gang was elusive and the officers had to carefully plan how to ambush them, even though they did not have sufficient information on the mode of transport the five were using.

When the police officers arrived in Chokaa, the suspects attempted to escape.

The officers fired in the air, ordering them to surrender, but two of them who had pistols began firing back.

The woman and a man who were shooting at the police were killed while the others escaped on foot.

Adi Vybz was still clutching a Beretta pistol, which had six rounds of ammunition, police said.
