President Uhuru Kenyatta Cancels Western Region Tour

President Uhuru Kenyatta has cancelled his planned trip to the Western region.

Kenyatta was scheduled to embark on a tour of the opposition stronghold but has cancelled his trip just a day after calling off his trip to Meru region.

A statement issued by State House spokesman Manoah Esipisu on Monday stated that, "Due to unavoidable circumstances, His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta will not be making a two-day visit to Tharaka Nithi and Meru Counties."

"President Kenyatta will, however, make a visit to the Western region of Kenya later on in the week, which will include Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Busia and Kakamega counties," the State House spokesman explained on Monday.

Uhuru's decision to cancel his trip to Tharaka Nithi and Meru Counties at the last minute caused anger among the residents who are now accusing him of abandoning the region.

On Monday, a section of Meru residents declared that they will not vote for the Jubilee Government in the upcoming August poll.

It is not yet clear why he has cancelled his trip again.
