President Uhuru Kenyatta Seals Deals Worth Sh28 Billion for Homabay and Mombasa

The rush to attract votes ahead of the August elections is heating up and different strategies are being put in place to secure the much-needed votes.

In a bold move that could tilt the scales, President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration is set to channel a whopping Sh28.6 Billion to carry out development in NASA strongholds of Homa Bay and Mombasa.

The Jubilee government is expected to launch a Sh26 Billion plant to turn Water hyacinth in Homa Bay into energy.

Water hyacinth has been a perennial problem that has affected so many livelihoods around Lake Victoria where the NASA presidential candidate enjoys massive support.

A further Sh2.6 Billion will be spent in Mombasa in a move that will create jobs for 10,000 youths.

This was disclosed by the Chief Executive Officer of Gold Crown Beverages Limited, Nadeem Ahmed. The company plans to build a value addition plant on a 25-acre piece of land in Miritini, Mombasa.

These were part of the deals discussed at a meeting attended by the President in London.

Mr Kenyatta traveled to the United Kingdom to attend a conference on Somalia and also to meet government and business leaders.

The Jubilee government has in the past used its development record to woo voters in NASA strongholds.
