The rush to attract votes ahead of the August elections is heating up and different strategies are being put in place to secure the much-needed votes.
In a bold move that could tilt the scales, President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration is set to channel a whopping Sh28.6 Billion to carry out development in NASA strongholds of Homa Bay and Mombasa.
The Jubilee government is expected to launch a Sh26 Billion plant to turn Water hyacinth in Homa Bay into energy.
Water hyacinth has been a perennial problem that has affected so many livelihoods around Lake Victoria where the NASA presidential candidate enjoys massive support.
A further Sh2.6 Billion will be spent in Mombasa in a move that will create jobs for 10,000 youths.
This was disclosed by the Chief Executive Officer of Gold Crown Beverages Limited, Nadeem Ahmed. The company plans to build a value addition plant on a 25-acre piece of land in Miritini, Mombasa.
These were part of the deals discussed at a meeting attended by the President in London.
Mr Kenyatta traveled to the United Kingdom to attend a conference on Somalia and also to meet government and business leaders.
The Jubilee government has in the past used its development record to woo voters in NASA strongholds.
