President Uhuru Kenyatta's Guard George Nderitu Led Operation Against Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho

State House was directly involved in an operation barring Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho from attending President Uhuru Kenyatta’s function in Mtongwe, Kenyans.co.ke can reveal.

The evidence of the direct involvement by President Kenyatta was captured in a video that went viral on Monday that shows the Governor sandwiched between a high-ranking commandant attached to State House and paramilitary officers.

The commandant, George Nderitu, clad in dark sunglasses is the head of the General Service Unit (GSU) G-Company Presidential guard.

Mr Nderitu reportedly marshalled the contingent of heavily armed security officers drawn from the Presidential Guard, GSU and Flying Squad with express orders to bar Joho from leaving his Nyali home across Nyali Bridge.

He was personally in charge of the altercation at the bridge after Governor Joho used a motorbike to outwit the officers who had been stationed at his home and rebuffed Joho’s attempts from crossing to the South Coast until the President's function was over

Nderitu served as a personal bodyguard of former President Mwai Kibaki throughout his 10-year tenure.

He was retained by President Uhuru and reportedly oversees all security operations of the President and travels with him wherever he goes.
