The mother of two, however, noted that she had designed clothes for top politicians in the country including Kikuyu Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Ichung'wa, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru and Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki.

"I've been in business for five years. I am hoping that the President will let me design more shirts for him cause am sure he looked different," she stated in a phone interview with this writer.

The President's shirt with red flowers sparked an online debate, with many online users noting that it was a good departure from the silk shirts Uhuru has often been wearing while on unofficial duties.

Carol has also made attires for the CEO of Kenya Power Dr. Ken Tarus and CEO of National Construction Authority Daniel Manduku.

Naneu Leshan Apparel store specialises in unique cloth design for women and men, as well as children’s wear.
