Raila's Team Accused of Offering Ridiculous Solutions

Deputy President William Ruto has taken a swipe at the Opposition terming some of their newly unveiled moves as ridiculous.

The Deputy President dismissed a bid launched to impeach President Uhuru Kenyatta, urging the opposition to be patient and be led by those in power.

“This whole hullabaloo about impeachment of the President is as ridiculous as planning a harambee to pay teachers….If you are not patient to be led, then you do not have what it takes to lead,” Ruto said

Speaking during the launch of a strategic plan at PCEA Bahati Matyrs Church, in Nairobi, Mr Ruto further faulted unnamed opposition leaders over what he said was resulting to insults due to lack of an agenda.

“How do you face your family after making insulting statements and how do people manage to reconcile with some of the things they said,” Ruto querried.

Remarks by the Deputy President come amid an ongoing political duel, pitting the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) against their Jubillee counterparts, over remarks made during a pro-teachers rally organized by the opposition last week on Wednesday.

CORD leaders criticized President Uhuru Kenyatta's government and querried why Uhuru had failed to suspend CS Anne Waiguru despite her docket being linked to graft allegations.

Led by Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, who has since been summoned at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the politicians affiliated to CORD challenged President Kenyatta to reveal the alleged “special relationship” he had with Waiguru.

The leaders reiterated their stance that the Head of State had failed in his mandate to uphold and defend the constitution.
