Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Wilson Sossion has directed teachers not to resume work on Monday.
The KNUT Secretary General called on teachers to remain on strike and only take orders from the union.
“For now they should actively remain out on strike as we synthesise the court ruling with our lawyers,” he said.
Addressing Journalists in Bomet Town, Mr Sossion firmly stated that the strike would remain on, as long us the Government does not follow through the teachers' demands.
“This strike is not about to end as long as there is an active appeal case in the Court of Appeal,” the Nation quotes Sossion.
The Industrial Court on Friday ordered teachers to suspend their four weeks long industrial action and resume duty on Monday, September 28.

The teachers' unions however vowed that they would only go back to class if the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), and the government withdrew all legal challenges against implementation of the 50-60 per cent pay increase.

The Ministry of Education, directed the re-opening of all public schools on Monday and announced new term dates running until November 20.
Sossion pointed out that they would comply with every inch of the court ruling but not before the TSC adhered to the conditions KNUT had set for any talks to begin.
