REVEALED: Why Pope Francis Will Not Sleep in any Kenyan Hotel

Barely two weeks before Pope Francis jets into the country on another historic trip after that of US President Barack Obama, the Vatican embassy in Nairobi has revealed that the Holy Father will not sleep in any hotel or government residence.

Instead, the Pope will be spending at the Apostolic Nunciature in Westlands, Nairobi, during his three-day visit in Kenya.

Archbishop Balvo stated that the unique position the Pointiff held as the head of the Catholic Church, did not allow him to stay at any government residence or hotel.

“The Pope will be staying here at the Nunciature and that is the law and tradition of the church,” the Standard quoted Balvo.

The Apostolic Nunciature is the official title used to refer to any of the Vatican Embassies around the world, and it is also known as the Embassy of the Holy.

In Kenya, the Embassy is located on Manyani Road, off Waiyaki Way in Westlands.

The Papal’s visit is also set to disrupt normal operations mainly traffic flow along major roads in the Capital.

High-level security arrangements and other logistics are already underway due to the large crowds that would gather to see the Pope and the potential threat to his life.

The Vatican City Head of State’s visit in the country begins on November 25.
