Ruto Cried in My Office - Muthama

Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama claims that Deputy President William Ruto cried in his (Muthama) office while begging for help.

According to Muthama, the incident happened in 2009 when Ruto was the Agriculture Minister and had been summoned to appear before Parliament over a maize scandal.

“Ruto wept in my office to save him from being kicked out of Parliament in 2009 over poor management of maize stores,” Muthama was quoted by The Star.

The Machakos Senator brought up the alleged incident after Ruto apparently rubbished his appointment to the select committee set to discuss electoral reforms in the country.

Muthama termed the DP an “an ingrate” and further stated: “I am surprised he can say I lack negotiation skills and diplomacy”.

During the National Prayers Breakfast on June 3 Ruto stated: “Yesterday, I had an engagement with some friends from parliament. They were telling me now that the other side had appointed Muthama and Mishi Mboko, we should appoint Moses Kuria and Baba Yao (Ferdinand Waititu)… that would be how not to get it done completely”.
