Sang Fixed Ruto - ICC Witness

A congregation in Nandi County was treated to a moment of anxiety after their Senator Stephen Sang hosted Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday.

This is after two men, said to be former ICC witnesses, revealed that Senator Sang was one of the people who linked them (witnesses)  to Non-Governmental Organizations, that were involved in recruitment and procuring of witnesses against Ruto and journalist Joshua Sang.

“Yeye ndiye alitusaidia kwa connection ya USAID na facilitation through USAID, tuende mpaka Kenya Commission for Human Rights (He is the one who helped in connecting us with USAID and the Kenya Commission for Human Rights),” said one of them.

The witnesses faulted the ongoing prayer rallies for Ruto and Joshua Sang accusing some leaders participating in the meetings, of hypocrisy.

While addressing the gathering, Senator Sang vehemently denied the claims, blaming political differences in his region for the allegations. He further urged Jubilee supporters not to believe people sent to propagate lies.

The unending debate over individuals responsible for implicating DP Ruto and Sang in the criminal cases against them at the International Criminal Court (ICC), has seen different turns and twists with leaders across the country taking advantage of the matter to trade jabs.

The Jubilee coalition has constantly blamed CORD over Ruto 'fixing', but the Opposition has refuted the accusations arguing that they could not have implicated the DP, since he was an ally during the 2007/2008 post election violence.
