Security Experts 'Prove' Jacob Juma was Killed Elsewhere

Fresh details regarding the death of businessman Jacob Juma have emerged contradicting the version given by police investigating the murder.

In an investigative report by KTN titled the Lead, events leading to Juma's death indicated that he could have been executed elsewhere then his body and car dumped near Lenana School.

The report suggested that Juma was found along a road that leads to Mombasa Road, having diverted more than 30 metres from the one that leads to his home in Karen. The investigative piece queried why Juma had changed to a different route from that which he normally used going home.

According to initial accounts by detectives who arrived at the scene of the incident, Juma was killed after being shot at ten times.

It has now emerged that the businessman was instead shot seven times with two bullets penetrating his chest leaving open holes on his back, meaning he was shot from the front and not while in motion as the police said.

Upon scrutiny, it was discovered that the Mercedes Benz which he was driving in had a double glass window, making it hard for bullets to penetrate as proven by the front door window which was intact despite being hit severally.

The back door window of Juma's car had been smashed, suggesting that it was hit using a blunt object in an effort to make it look similar to a car which had come under fire.

In the initial probe, no cartridge was found at the scene of crime, indicating that the assailants had cartridge holders attached to their rifles if at all the execution occurred where his body was found.

Security experts revealed that such holders were only a preserve of authorised security officers, therefore, Juma might have been killed at a different area since the attackers could not have had enough time to collect their cartridges after the assault.

The angle at which the shooting is said to have taken place has also raised some inconsistencies. According to the Lead, Juma's car had exit holes on the windscreen showing that the bullets had been fired from the back side.

It would then be impossible for the same bullets to have killed the deceased, given that Juma was shot from the front as suggested by the report, raising questions over the exact position of his killers.

Questions have also come up in regard to the state of the car which was not splashed with blood, but only had smears on the front seats, further casting doubt on the police's version of the story.

It was also reported that Juma's hand was badly damaged, hinting that he might have wrestled with his attackers thus disputing the theory that he was shot inside the Benz.

The businessman was killed on Thursday in an incident which police termed an assassination, with initial probe showing that he was shot ten times by an assailant who sped off on a bike.
