See What President Kenyatta Brought From His Trips

President Uhuru Kenyatta has over the past few days come under fire after it emerged that he had made 43 foreign trips in his two and a half years in power, 10 more than retired President Mwai Kibaki in his 10 year tenure.

Government Communication Agency, Nexus, on Monday released documents outlining what President Kenyatta accomplished in his 43 trips and what Kenya gained from the disputed travels.

In 2013, the President went on seven official trips within Africa with some of the accomplished matters including: Enhancing bilateral relations with Botswana, signed a Security Defence pact in South Africa, attended a conference on Infrastructure in Uganda, among others.

He visited China five times, where he co-ordinated the supply of security communication equipment valued at over Sh150 Million before attending a meeting on implementation of the agreement regarding the Standard Gauge Railway. Kenyatta also visited China to discuss implementation of the agreement on promoting geothermal steam production and power generation.

In 2014, he set out to several countries among them Qatar, where he witnessed the signing of four agreements on Economic, Commercial and Technical Cooperation.

Also in 2014 he visited 10 African countries, where he enhanced bilateral relations with South Africa, Sudan and Rwanda and attended the Africa Union Summit in Ethiopia, among others.

The report further showed that Mr Kenyatta toured 11 African countries in 2015, and 32 out of 47 counties in Kenya.

President Kenyatta arrived back into the country on Sunday morning after touring three countries in one week for summits and conferences, where he was accompanied by his daughter Ngina Kenyatta and other delegates.
