Senator Paul Njoroge Accused of Shooting at Vivo Energy CEO Polycarp Igathe

Jubilee nominated Senator Paul Njoroge was on Tuesday caught on camera apparently shooting at Vivo Energy CEO Polycarp Igathe in Naivasha town.

Photos of the drama showed the Senator, who has since fallen out with the Jubilee government, aiming with a pistol despite being in the full glare of cameras.

In the incident, which happened in broad daylight, a man believed to be Njoroge's bodyguard is seen assisting the Senator who is seated on a plastic chair.

Reports indicate that Mr Igathe had led a group of officials from the company to recover assets from a Petrol Station the Senator reportedly runs.

Njoroge, who was nominated to the Senate to represent the disabled, however, tried to stop the group from taking any assets by shooting to scare them away.

He was later arrested and will be arraigned in court on Wednesday.

The nominated Senator has on several occasions been involved in altercations, rubbing many the wrong way.

In particular, Njoroge has been a fierce critic of Deputy President William Ruto who he accuses of corruption, adding that he (Ruto) should be sacked.

The Senator has also been at loggerheads with Jubilee legislators due to his frequent attacks and criticism of the government despite being appointed by the ruling administration.
