Suspected Kenyan Plane Crashes

A plane transporting cargo for the African Union Mission In Somalia (AMISOM) crashed on Thursday at a rural area in Somalia.

The Kenyan-registered plane is said to have been carrying 10-12 crew members, and that it crashed at a zone controlled by the Al Shabaab Militia group.

A Somali Government official confirmed the incident saying they had sent AMISOM and Somali soldiers to the area which is about 40 kilometers from Mogadishu.

Other reports suggest that the plane might have crashed due to bad weather since the area was receiving a lot of rains.

It is further alleged that the militiamen could have taken hostage survivors whose nationalities are yet to be known.

Al Shabaab still commands selected regions in Somalia and is fighting to displace the government in place. Kenyan Troops and other African forces under AMISOM are in the country to restore order and crash the group.
