Kenyans on social media were Thursday engaging in various conversations among them the latest move by President Uhuru Kenyatta's advisor on Education, Kilemi Mwiria to ditch the Jubilee Party.

Kilemi Mwiria

President Uhuru Kenyatta's advisor on Education, Kilemi Mwiria, was on the trends as he was officially joining Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's Maendeleo Chap Chap Party, a day after ditching Jubilee.

Mr Mwiria will be vying for the Meru gubernatorial seat in the upcoming August polls.

“I have no problem with the Jubilee party led by Mr Kenyatta, but there is a problem with Jubilee in Meru,” Dr Mwiria said on Wednesday when he announced his exit.

Arabia and Al Shabaab

These two topics were trending separately Thursday morning after suspected Al Shabaab militants attacked an Administration Police (AP) camp in Arabia, Mandera County making away with four Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) kits, a police land cruiser and three guns.

The Makonde

The Makonde Community were trending after President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday issued them with Identity cards and citizenship certificates in Kwale county, endorsing them as part of the Kenyan community to enable them register as voters.

“The Makonde people are now part of the Kenyan community and constitute the 43rd tribe of Kenya,” President Kenyatta said.

The Makonde, who originated from Mozambique, have been stateless for over 50 years.

Eunice Njeri

Celebrated gospel artist Eunice Njeri became the subject of online discussion after she revealed that her wedding, which took place on November 27, 2016, was never formalised.

Njeri shocked many when she claimed that she abandoned her husband-to-be on their wedding day after she realised that "her heart was somewhere else".
