Uhuru Prays for Rain in Nyeri

President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Friday forced by a crowd in Nyeri County to pray for rain during his voter registration campaign in the area.

In a video capturing part of the incident, Mr Kenyatta is heard trying to evade the locals request noting: "But am not a pastor, am a politician, how can you ask me to pray when what I do best is politics."

However, the determined residents pressed him on until he agreed to their request.

The Head of State prayed in Kikuyu stating: "Our God we pray for peace in our country, give us rains so that our animals have something to eat. We pray for a good harvest in our farms and growth in our country. We pray for victory."

Interestingly, the rains came down after the President's prayer as per a video shared by his team.

Mr Kenyatta was forced to cancel his next tour to Kiganjo.

The recording grabbed the attention of many Kenyans on social media with some claiming that he was the 'chosen prophet'.

Nonetheless, clouds had already started forming before the President's address.

Here is the video.
