VIDEO: 140 Teenagers Arrested at Project X Linked Party

Police on Thursday arrested 140 teenagers said to have been holding a house party at Phenom estate in Nairobi's Lang'ata area.

The youth aged 14-20 years are alleged to have been found drunk, before police halted the party which they said could have been connected to the highly disputed Project X sex event.

The young girls and boys were bundled into three lorries that had been dispatched to apprehend them, following a tip-off from the estate's security.

Parents of the arrested youngsters hailed the police for promptly intervening and stopping the party. However, some of the guardians faulted police officers for arresting their children and linking them to the said Project X, arguing that their children were just having a good time.

Confirming the incident, Lang'ata OCPD Elijah Mwangi stated that the police were called after noise was heard emanating from a house in the estate.

The arrest comes amid heightened surveillance by law enforcers after revelations that a group of organisers were planning to hold a party in "celebration of bad behavior in Kenya".
