US President Barack Obama is in the country. Airforce One, Obama's official plane, touched down at 8pm local time at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. He was welcomed by President Uhuru Kenyatta with a hug and handshake after receiving flowers from a young girl.
Uhuru then proceeded to introduce the dignitaries that had accompanied him who included Cabinet Ministers Amina Mohammed, Joseph Nkaiserry and Uhuru's Personal Assistant Jomo Gecaga. When he got to Uhuru's sons Jomo Kenyatta and Jaba Kenyatta, he paused and had conversation with them.
Last on the line-up was Obama's half-sister Auma Obama who had a hearty hug and exchanged some pleasantries.
President Obama then signed the airport's visitors' book, got into his motorcade and left for his hotel room.
Interestingly, Auma Obama accompanied her brother into the official limousine code named "the beast".
President Obama is on a 3-day visit to the country for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit. He departs on Sunday evening.
