Legendary musician Jules Shungu Wembadio Pene Kikumba popularly known by his stage name Papa Wemba has died.
The Congolese music star breathed his last Saturday night after collapsing mid-way through performance in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Wemba was dancing together with his backing singers when he suddenly fell down, with reports indicating that he suffered a seizure.
In a short clip shared widely on social media, his troupe are seen rushing to lift up the King of Rumba.
The popular musician will be remembered for his hit songs; Yolele, Show me the way, Rail On, Wake Up among many others
Papa Wemba was born in June 1949, in Lubefu in the Democratic Republic of Congo where he started off as a guitarist.
