After addressing a humongous crowd at the Kasarani stadium indoor arena, US President Barack Obama met with the opposition leaders.
Details of the talks between the US President and the opposition leaders remained a subject left to guesswork, until, the US president spilt the beans.
While addressing civil rights groups' leaders at Kenyatta University, the US President referred to a conversation he just had with the opposition leaders.
Obama highlighted that he challenged the opposition leaders to work with the legally elected government, however, one of them whom he opted not to name told him “….We really need you to press the government on some issues.”
Obama went further to reveal what he told the said leader.
President Obama said he reminded the particular opposition member of how he kept telling the US,.."I remember when you were in government you kept on saying why are you trying to interfere with Kenya's business you should mind your own business".
The US President noted that “everybody wants the US to be very involved when they are not in power and when they are in power they want the US to mind its own businesses”
Obama was emphasizing to the Civil rights groups' leaders on the need to be continously honest and promote interests and policies they believe in.
